Our History

In the summer of 1994 a small handful of people invited HR and Gwen Huntsman to consider restarting what is now Real Life Family Center. After much prayer and seeking God they answered “yes” to God’s leading in their lives and RLFC was born. 23 people showed up for that first Sunday in August of 1994.

With a passion for contemporary music, authentic worship, practical teaching and genuine love, RLFC began to grow. Our sanctuary at our Bingham headquarters began to fill up and that led us to a decision – add a second service. We have always been the kind of church that wanted to make room for one more. In January of 1996, we added our second Sunday service and we continued to grow. We saw God heal, restore, renew, equip and set free. God still changes lives.

We were soon looking for another building. In April of 1998 we made a defining decision. As we saw our continued growth, we made a decision to move our weekend gatherings so we could make room for “one more” that God brought our way. Even though we knew it would be much more expensive and require much more sacrifice, we knew it was the right decision. That decision was declared in our minutes “We will never allow a building to determine the size of our ministry in our community.” With that, we moved to Brouillet Elementary School.

Hundreds of current RLFC family members are the beneficiaries of that sacrificial decision. We will always make room for one more! With more room to grow, God brought more and more of His kids our way and we continued to grow. We added a second Sunday service and then a third service on Saturday evening.

During this growth period, God was preparing us. He brought to our attention a great piece of property and then miraculously delivered it to us. As we stepped out in faith in our Enlarge the Tent campaign, God showed us what He could do through people of faith. We fully expected to build on that property but God delayed that process and brought us something much better.

Eighteen months ago we took a huge step of faith and moved into our new facility that had already been built for us. What a MIRACLE! That brings us to 24:7. This stewardship campaign is to raise a passion for God’s heart, clarity about our need and the finances to meet that need. God has given us a great history, He has given us a great building in a tremendous location, and He has given us a heart for those around us.

He is now giving us an opportunity to make a difference for generations to come. We started with twenty-three people and a vision. Now, over 1500 people call RLFC their church home. With all that growth, one thing has never changed – Our Vision. There are still thousands of people around us who are living life far from the hope and love that God alone can give. We want to make sure there is a place for them. As we embark on our 24:7 Campaign, we continue to see lives touched and impacted by the ministry of Real Life Family Center. We are not done. We will not rest until every person in our community has an intimate, vibrant and growing relationship with God.

We Envision

Where the next generations will not only learn that God loves them, but meet with adults that invest in them and lay beneath their feet a strong foundation for their future. Where the story of Jesus’ love becomes THEIR personal story.

...a place where healing occurs
It’s not just going through the motions of religion, but experiencing a living God. It is that vibrant, authentic relationship that brings healing, restoration and renewal to our lives. We commit ourselves to being a place where real people can come and grow in their journey of faith.

...a place to give back
Being a Christ follower is not only about receiving from God, but also about giving back. This is what Jesus modeled and desires of us. Where those who have received from God can continue to grow by giving back to those who are coming behind.

...a place for our community
What happens outside of the building is just as important as what happens inside. Our passion is to reach out to our communities, the under resourced, opportunities for service locally, nationally and globally. Our new building provides a fantastic“launching pad” for our many outreach ministries.

...a place of EXCITEMENT!
Our God is an exciting God and RLFC will continue to communicate that a life with God, provided through Jesus Christ is the BEST LIFE OF ALL!!!
